Soon to be a missionary!

Wow so it has been a long time! Well I got my mission call last month... Canada Toronto West! There is no better place! people talk about how its going to be soo cold but i say bring it on! Haha i may bite my tongue later though! I am so excited to go. I leave Wednesday the 16 of December in this wonderful year of 2009! You may wonder about this girl i kept posting about many years ago when i actually posted about my life! Well she is doing good! I took her to prom then stopped talking to her because leading up to prom I was hearing about this other guy talking to her he was tall blonde and athletic and at youth confrence when i saw her with him i was jealous because she seemed way happy to be around him. Well I felt at prom that i was getting in the way of someone better for her and that she wasnt that in to me. So i busied myself into work! I got this great job working as an IT for Klein I.S.D. Summer was fun Cousins came down to visit and I was enjoying working! And then I heard the news of Shanel dating the boy I heard about and knew I made the right choice. I normally know when i am loosing a battle for a girl and will step down! However sad to say boys are stupid, they make mistakes and I knew he would! So it wasnt a too big of a surprise when Shanel's mom texted me to tell me he broke up with her the day of her homecoming game. the text was shortly followed by a call from Shanel. At this time i was watching my brothers, because Mom and Dad were out to see Jared and Rachel's new baby girl, Victoria Mae Allen "Tori Mae." Well I took the chance and jumpped into action. I made sure Dillon and Alec were where they needed to be and drove myself up to a Homecoming game to be a friend, and that was it. I knew she wouldnt be ready to be in a relationship, but i wanted to be there for her. The game was way fun, dont remember if the Magnolia Bulldogs won or not, but it was still fun. Even though I was druged up because of a back injury, I gave that night my all. I screamed for the Bulldogs and got to know her friends and was there just to make sure Shanel had a good night. The next night was her Dance... It didnt take me long to find a shirt and tie to go with her dress, then found out we werent dancing but going out to have a fun on the town. We had dinner at P.F Changs... gross, but i didnt show i hated it! haha! I gave that night my all too. It appeared she had a good night, which made me feel I did my job. Her friends asked me that night if i liked her... inside i was like heck yes!, i mean what guy drops everything he is doing to see a smile on a girls face, that he doesnt like! However friends love to talk and if i told them yes it would get around to Shanel, and I knew she didnt want a relationship... So I lied and said no, we are just friends! Well as Fall came Shanel and I spent a lot of time together. Lots of fun random dates. We went to the Opera for my birthday... yet once again I felt her pushing away! My mom would tell me Derek you said this girl drived you crazy... I know you didnt like prom why are you hanging out with her soo much! I never answered her questions... but she was right Shanel did and still sometimes does drive me crazy... yet something always tells me to not give up and brings me back to her! Well on November 15, 2009 she did it. She addmitted something I was waiting for her to say... I love you! So now I have something I told myself I wouldnt have... a girlfriend when i go on my mission. Last weekend we went to Hillary Jones wedding! Wow being with her so much i thought i would get annoyed with her...however it did the opposite... I am soo crazy about her! Yet my mission is coming! I leave in 6 days and I know I have to leave her behind. Will she wait... I hope so! Will I be sad if i get that letter... YES! Will life go on... Yes! I know I will be doing what I am suppose to... and if she finds someone else it means i can too! So yes I love her, but I am ready to be a Missionary!

A day at the lake

Well it was cloudy today so i was a little nervous... but it only showered a little bit on shanel and me. Today we went out on the kiak. It was really fun a little bit of a workout but really fun. We then ate a little picnic. It was really yummy! Well that was the date, and i had a blast!

Ok so Sat. i was working and begging to get off work early so i could go out with shanel. Well the owner, who is in love with me, let me go so i ran home and changed and met shanel downtown at the holocaust museum. The musuem was really good, it was my second time going and well this time i pulled a lot more in. Its so sad what some of these people went thru. Well after the museum her friends left which left us two there. I was hungry and knew we were not too far from my favorite resturant Birraporetti's. We ended up going there and she had the lasagna and i had the alfredo shrip adn we shared some escargots and had our own waters. It was really really good! After dinner we headed out to the rodeo... getting lost on the way but we did make it there just in time for the concert. we saw Brooks and Dunn, brooks was sick so dunn did all the singing. shanel was just as cute as can be! we were both wearing green so we matched... we seem to match alot these days!!! :) well after the concert i wanted to go to the carnival but her mom wanted to go pick her dad. yet somehow her mom decided to let me drive her home and we stayed the night at the carnival riding all the fun rides. My favorite was the really big slide with the sacks. we raced down and i won! Shanel was the best date she was fun easy to talk to and oh wow way cute! haha! going home was fun too we continued talking. well the night came to an end up luckly i have a second date on tuesday!

Boys Night Out

Well tonight I was off from work, for once. Yet in the end I ended up at home doing nothing with Alec and Dillon while Mom and Dad where off at conference. Well then I decided I wanted to go do something. Then I remembered I had two little brothers who I don't see much because of work causing me to never home. So I decided to take them out to have fun. Knowing they would be just as happy to get out of the house as i would. I took them to Mountasia for the night, which happens to be next to the mall so we took a side run to the mall. I am in need of new work shoes, so I thought I would be able to find the new working shoes croc has put out. I also wanted the yellow santa cruz crocs… yet it was a negative on both. So we then went inside of Abercrombie and Dillon got two new yellow shirts claiming it was his color! Alec didn’t like it there so we went to American Eagle and he got himself a green pearl snap shirt. Mad I didn’t get my shoes and everyone else got something I went looking for some shoes and found some good slip-ons at Journeys. There Dillon found these Ralph Lauren yellow shoes that he just needed! Yet as it turned out his feet where to small for there and too big for the kids store. Stinks to be him! Hahah! From the mall we went to Mountasia there we started with a miniature golf competition. Dillon brought his A-game in the beginning winning every hole. Yet Alec came out with his lucky side on the fifth hole and the two of them where neck in neck at winning holes. Alec on the 12th hole made the only hole in one for the night and used almost every rock and wall on the green to make it in… I don’t think he even aims he just lets it go. Not letting my little brothers beat me too bad I came back in the end. As the game ended Alec won with 5 holes me with 6 and Dillon got 7. We then took a potty break before the go karts. Holy crap that line was so long we waited for our “five minutes of speed” for like a half an hour! It was so cold and the wind was blowing. Dillon decided to leave his jacket in the truck was wishing he didn’t! I ended up giving him mine. Well as we got to the front we saw the height limit and it was close we didn’t think Dillon was going to be able to drive. Yet he made it! The go karts where fun I ended up causing four pile ups from hitting people and getting out and leaving the victims behind, during the beginning of the race Dillon and I where neck and neck most of the time and Alec was a little ahead. Then I nipped Dillon’s tail and sent him spinning. He kart ended up stalling and he had to wait for help! Then Alec came into view not paying attention I was able to sneak up on him and pass him. Cutting him off I made it impossible for him to pass. We ended up lapping Dillon and then Dillon was with us to the end! Well that was my wonderful evening with my little brothers. It was a blast and I would do it again.

The First of many

Well this is the first of many. Today I am laying around babying my leg, i hurt it last Friday night playing fugitive I ran into a barb wire fence. I leave to work at two and close tonight. Hopefully I can get out of there so i can go celebrate the new year with my friends. Well Thats all for the opening of the blog!
